Vintage 1948 Kay 3/4 Upright Concert Bass

This vintage double bass was produced in 1948 by Kay.
Beautiful craftsmanship and could really shine with some attention.
The label inside the bass reads,
“
Genuine Kay BassViol ; Model C1 ; Serial Number 18173.”
It measures
72” inches in height
from the top of the scroll to the bottom of the body
.
The double bass body size is
43” long,
making it a
3/4 size contrabass.
Has one crack at the base of the neck, but there are no other cracks or breaks.
The surface of the bass has scuffs and some scratches.
The edges of the bass have chips in the wood as shown, especially along the bottom edges.
The left F-hole has slightly bent inward as shown.
Unsure what the cause was, but we assume it works as intended.
Varnish has also been worn away underneath the bridge where it has been changed, and along some edges.
The scroll has wear also. Please see all photos for condition of the overall bass.
There was also a vintage repair made in 1967 as is marked. Unsure what the repair was.
Comes with the original canvas case. Case has stains on both sides.
