Wow, so this is just out of storage and I had completely forgotten we had this! We took a bunch of stuff out of storage last year, had the sheets still in packages and sold those. This is the ORIGINAL pattern and rich colors, much better design! As big fans of Allison/Alison know, both the pattern and the fabric and the workmanship has DECLINED since the Original. This is the original REAL DEAL pattern! Unlike some others 'like this" I've seen posted, this does NOT have worn corners, this does NOT have missing stitching, you will NOT find worn corners, you will NOT see any fading. this does NOT have anything that wouldn't leave you feeling anything but "USE WITH PRIDE"
(And wow, look at the one that sold recently for 3! (go to SOLD LISTINGS) it DOES have missing stitching, extreme wear,, frayed corners and extreme fading!.Totally the opposite of USE WITH PRIDE.   Ralph Lauren was crazy to reduce quality so, so much on this over the years, and it's rare to find something in this condition ! We had "original" Allison sheets out of storage last year, and Every sheet I posted sold immediately ; even I didn't understand the lasting power of this discontinued quality and pattern until recently; they cheapened "allison" to a simpler color scheme for lower the number thread colors and
such
a less rich pattern...which lowers their cost and doesn't even coordinate well with the original; just exploiting the pattern name recognition in my opinion.
This is a "channel" stitching pattern which is straight lines..not a more variable more quilted stitching design. This has theCLEAN LOOK of linear stitching, which on a floral pattern was always the 'way to go' as far as I'm concerned. it's neat and stays "organized" if you can even used that word for a comforter!:). And PS I see here on ebay someone selling a great condition king bedskirt in this pattern, and a throw pillow too! You could be all set in no time with an update of a true favorite, timeless pattern!!
