Born in 1831, Samuel Williams saw a great deal of the development of the United States and being a born story teller, he gives a unique view of things as they happened.  After the Civil War, he moved back to Paris, Kentucky and became a newspaper reporter thus getting a great start on his role of spinner of tales and yarns.  This volume is full of many of his great tales of the world of Kentucky.
