Pre-Owned This FULL MATCHBOOK is primarily advertisement for the "ROBERT DRISCOLL HOTEL" that was located in Corpus Christi, Texas from 1942 until it closed in 1970. The Inside Cover also advertises five other establishments in Texas & Arizona. The Driscoll name is for Robert Driscoll who was honored by his sister Clara Driscoll who had the Hotel named for him. The Hotel Driscoll was a 17 story, 350 room Hotel. Several famous guests like John Wayne and Tyrone Power stayed there. Some of the restaurant ware from the Hotel is now considered Collectable. Note: Clara Driscoll was a philanthropist & businesswoman who was pivotal in preserving the Alamo Mission from being sold off in 1905. Matchbook in Great Shape. No creasing on the Saddle.
