You are bidding on a very RARE large (8-3/4 x 10-3/4") photographic cabinet card of FRANZ LISZT with studio original stamp, "LOUIS HELD, Hofphotographic Weimar," in bottom right hand corner and mounted on cardboard.
LOUIS HELD (1851-1927), was a pioneer and a  photojournalist; the photo is hand signed by housekeeper, PAULINE APEL (1838-1926) 30 year old servant of Liszthaus in Weimar.
The upper right hand corner has a nick out of the photo and the lower left corner is a bit pinched at bottom.
Pauline has signed photo across the bottom edge and done the same on reverse.
Translation--Franz Liszt in the 11th year of life Pauline Apel 30 year old servant Weimar Liszthaus.
The composer is shown in clerical dress seated at his desk in his Weimar study. The room is ornately furnished with drapes, and there are three further tables or desks covered with papers and books. Behind Liszt on the opposite wall is a large portrait of Beethoven obscured by a plant.
Liszt would be 73 (June 1884) two years before his death on this card.
