    GREAT GIFT
    Beautiful Collectible Vintage SALEM 1800's Godey Victorian Print Plate!  Cream color with 23 K gold scrolls on rim (see third photo).   Made in U.S.A. c.1952 (see backstamp in fourth photo).
    Beautiful on a wall or plate stand!   It is 10 3/4 inches in diameter.
    SHORT HISTORY OF GODEY'S PRINTS:
    Godey's Magazine and Lady's Book
    , was published by Louis Godey in Philadelphia from 1830 to 1898.  It was expensive and the most widely circulated magazine in the period before the Civil War.
    The magazine is best known for the hand-tinted fashion plate that appeared in each issue providing a record of the progression of women's styles in dress. Almost every issue also included an illustration and ladies' garment pattern for home sewing. The latest piano sheet music was also included.
    Excellent condition - no chips or cracks. Shiny & undamaged.  Looks like it was stored and never used all these years.  Great for the Victorian, Godey Print and Vintage American Plate Collector!
