UNHEARD MUSIC
Beethoven was born in Germany in
1770, but lived nearly all his life in
Vienna. As a young man his greatest
fear was that he might go deaf and not
be able to hear the beautiful music he
loved to compose. At the age of 30 he
did become deaf. Yet so great was his
courage and genius that he composed his
greatest works such as the  Ninth
Symphony  without being able to hear
a note.
