Powerful and imposing female Kifwebe helmet Janus mask from the SONGYE tribe from DR Congo. With stripe figurations in a brown, and white kaolin. The big eyes and square mouth are the typical SONGYE characteristics.
This mask is a Janus mask and are 2 different female masks in 1. Carved in one piece of wood.
The mask shows age related signs of wear and tear, cracks, but is in a overall good condition. Have a good look at the pictures.
